Belonging Starts with Listening (Copy)
Stronger communities are built when we create space for people to share their stories, speak openly and connect with one another.
We’re grateful to 3CR Community Radio and James McKenzie for inviting Jamal Hakim from Euphoria Foundation onto In Ya Face for an important conversation about LGBTQIAPN+ wellbeing, community and connection.
The conversation was an opportunity to talk about the work Euphoria Foundation is doing as a community-led LGBTQIAPN+ not-for-profit, and why wellbeing is about more than individual support. It is also about belonging, connection, education and having communities where people feel safe to be themselves.
For many people across LGBTQIAPN+ communities, wellbeing can be shaped by many different experiences, including isolation, discrimination, cultural exclusion, racism, homophobia, transphobia and barriers to accessing appropriate support.
That is why community matters.
At Euphoria Foundation, we believe that when people have opportunities to connect, share their experiences and learn from one another, we can build stronger and more supportive communities.
We also know the importance of creating spaces where different identities, cultures, backgrounds and experiences are respected and valued.
Thank you to James and the 3CR team for creating space for these conversations and for giving Euphoria Foundation the opportunity to share our work with the wider community.
We’re proud to be part of conversations that help build understanding, challenge exclusion and create greater connection.
When we listen to each other, learn from each other and stand together, we create communities where everyone has the opportunity to feel seen, supported and valued.
Together, we can build a future where everyone belongs.
