EUPHORIA SOCIAL – PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS

Terms and Conditions
A Grassroots, Volunteer-Led Community Celebration – Presented by Euphoria Social Group Inc and Tim Lai

About This Initiative

The GALA & People’s Choice Awards is a volunteer-led event honouring the vibrant and diverse LGBTQIAPN+ community across Victoria and surrounds. It exists to amplify voices, recognise contributions, and uplift community spirit — especially for those often unseen or working behind the scenes.

This is a grassroots, community-powered project with no corporate or government funding, built entirely on the time, passion, and support of volunteers.

Participation in any part of the People’s Choice Awards process — including nominations, voting, or attending the event — means you accept the following terms and conditions.

1. Grassroots Commitment & Ticketing

Euphoria Social Group Inc is entirely self-funded and ran by unwaged volunteers. We do not receive ongoing corporate sponsorship or government funding. This means:

  • Nominees and finalists are not automatically given free tickets to the GALA.

  • Ticket sales help cover essential event costs: venue hire, accessibility, community performers, and setup.

That said, equity matters. We are committed to offering:

  • A limited number of Community Tickets at reduced or no cost.

  • Complimentary Tickets, where possible, prioritised for nominees facing financial hardship or other barriers.

Ticket allocations will be confirmed closer to the event, based on available resources.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we grow this community initiative with care.

2. Eligibility and Participation

Participation is voluntary and does not guarantee selection as a finalist or winner.

Nominations must represent individuals, groups, or organisations contributing positively to the LGBTQIAPN+ community in Victoria and surrounds.

  • You may nominate multiple times, for genuine nominations.

  • You may nominate yourself or someone else (with their consent).

  • Nominations reflect the views of community members and do not constitute an endorsement, partnership, or formal vetting by Euphoria Social.

All nominees must:

  • Meet published eligibility requirements.

  • Consent to their nomination and participation.

  • Provide additional materials (bio, photos, etc.) if selected.

  • Be willing to arrange or purchase their own ticket if attending.

Nominees must also consent to:

  • Euphoria Social using their name, story, and image for promotional purposes if selected as a finalist or winner.

3. Voting Process

Finalists are determined through a public vote following nomination eligibility review.

  • Voting is not anonymous. Each vote is tied to a unique email address to ensure transparency and fairness.

  • Each person may vote only once per category.

  • Duplicate or suspicious votes from the same person or email address will be removed.

  • Votes must reflect genuine community engagement and alignment with the values of Euphoria Social.

The public will vote openly for their preferred nominees using clearly identified names and stories. Incomplete or vague nominations may impact a nominee’s visibility during voting.

Euphoria Social reserves the right to:

  • Moderate voting content

  • Disqualify ineligible or misaligned nominees

  • Withhold finalists where nomination detail is insufficient

The voting process is designed to reflect authentic community voice. Campaigning that disrespects others or undermines the integrity of this process may result in removal.

4. Awards and Recognition

  • Winners will receive a certificate and public recognition.

  • There is no monetary prize for winning.

  • Some categories may be celebrated online only if not announced live at the GALA.

Euphoria Social may contact finalists for:

  • Interviews or storytelling

  • Website and media content

  • Participation in GALA presentations

This is a symbolic, community-led honour — not a commercial award or financial prize.

5. Social Media Visibility Requirement

To ensure transparency, inclusion, and celebration:

  • Nominees and participants must not have Euphoria Social blocked on Instagram or other public platforms.

Blocking our account may result in withdrawal of your nomination or showcase.

This ensures you can be featured, tagged, and celebrated across our channels and that your community nomination is visible during the public voting period.

Euphoria Social reserves the right to verify visibility on public platforms as part of the nomination process.

6. Community Alignment Requirement

Participation is open to all, but nominees must:

  • Align with the mission and values of Euphoria Social Group Inc.

  • Support community care, inclusion, and authenticity.

  • Not act in ways that harm or undermine our communities or platform.

You do not need to follow us or be a member to participate — but you must not act in contradiction to our purpose.

Euphoria Social reserves the right to withdraw nominations or votes if actions are found to compromise the safety, values, or wellbeing of the community we serve.

7. Consent to Publish & Representation

To honour the voice of those who nominated you:

  • If you agree to be featured, your showcase content will use the original words from your nominator, unless otherwise requested.

  • You must provide explicit consent for public sharing on our website and social channels.

This ensures your participation is safe, respectful, and empowering — especially for nominees navigating visibility, safety, or intersectional challenges.

8. Integrity and Behaviour Expectations

The People’s Choice Awards is a celebration — not a competition. To maintain a safe and ethical process:

  • Campaigning must be respectful and must not target or undermine other nominees.

  • Misusing a nomination for self-promotion, political agendas, or commercial gain may result in disqualification.

  • Harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind will result in removal.

Euphoria Social reserves the right to remove participants whose behaviour contradicts the values of this initiative.

9. Accessibility and Support

We are committed to inclusive participation.

If you have specific access needs, safety concerns, or barriers to participation (online or in person), please reach out to us. We want to make this process as inclusive and safe as possible for everyone involved.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Euphoria Social Group Inc — including board members, volunteers, organisers, and collaborators — accepts no liability for:

  • Not being selected as a finalist or winner

  • Errors in nomination or voting processes

  • Inability to attend the GALA

  • Ticket availability or miscommunications

  • Use of nominee content

  • Event changes, technical issues, or online platform errors

By participating, you agree:

  • You do so voluntarily and at your own discretion.

  • You release Euphoria Social and its team from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your participation.

This initiative is provided as is and does not form a legal or financial obligation between participants and organisers.
